KERN SCHOOL DISTRICT

BAKERSFIELD, CA

Kern High School District entered into a Power Purchase Agreement with Sunpower to design and build 22 megawatts of solar power systems at 27 KHSD sites. According to data provided by The Solar Foundation, the agreement is the largest contracted commitment to solar power by any school district in the United States. Team members of CDG managed the design of these sites for phase 1 and CDG is now finishing the design for phase 3 for the District, adding an additional 1.1 MWs to another site.

GROSSMONT SCHOOL DISTRICT

EL CAJON, CA

The Grossmont Union High School District serves a large sector of east San Diego County across 16 sites. Grossmont HS, El Capitan HS, and Chaparral High School added solar carports to the District’s portfolio of renewable projects. The District expects to save over $70 million dollars over 25 years due to it’s aggressive investments in solar energy, battery storage, energy efficiency, and advances energy control systems.

ATUM HEADQUARTERS

NEWARK, CA

ATUM is a large biotechnical company with their bio-engineering and research facility in Newark, CA. Due to their large usage of electricity, they selected Cool Earth Solar to install Solar Canopies on their site. The limited space on this site challenged the required output of energy needed by the end-user, but due to creative thinking and working with local building officials, a solution was made that fit the needs of the end-user and provided the dealer with the path forward to complete a successful project.

Colton School District 2.jpg

The Colton Joint Unified School District elected to add solar carports across 28 schools that would provide an estimated energy savings of more than $35 million over 25 years. On completion, it is estimated that 73% of the District’s electricity will be provided by the carport systems with annual production of approximately 9.6 million kWh. In addition to generating power, this portfolio also includes much-needed shade for parking and shelters for students on many campuses.
